Quick Interview: What would you take with you?

We are starting a new series in which we will ask 1 or 2 questions to multiple bloggers each week and share their answers with you.

Today’s question is being answered by Elle of Veni. Vedi. Veci and Paul of 101 Things in 1001 Days.

[heading style=”1″]If you were traveling around the world, living out of a single bag, what would you carry with you and why?[/heading] Our first response comes from Elle, a great writer whose been very supportive of our efforts. Thanks for answering our question!

I’m Elle (pronounced just like the letter L), you may have heard of me from such projects as…well…okay, so you’ve never heard of me. Let’s move on. I’m 28 years old. Sometimes a woman, sometimes a lady, sometimes a girl. I work to travel, I travel to live.
My ultimate travel essential is a sarong; you will never find a more versatile article of clothing!  You can use it as a cover up at the beach, or use it to cover your shoulders at a church.  I’ve used it as a towel, a skirt, a top and a bandanna.  I’ve even used my sarong to create a sling for my arm, a blanket to snuggle with on a long train ride and to wrap fragile items I’ve picked up at the market. The best thing about sarongs is that you can ball them up and toss them in your bag.  They take up barely any space and are easy and cheap to replace.
The next person who answered our question is Simply Paul from 101 Things in 1001 Days. I love this concept he’s working on and he’s very forthcoming about the difficulties he encounters along the way. That’s what we are about! Not everything is easy. Keep up the great progress Paul!

I’ve stayed up all night, slept all day, jumped out of a plane, visited the stomping grounds of Jack the Ripper and rolled down a hill in a 10 foot inflatable ball with Hayley! These are a few of the things I’ve done before starting my 101 Things 1001 Days challenge.
If I was travelling around the world with just a single bag I’d have to carry a notebook and pencil so that I could write, draw and doodle about my travels and adventures. Some comfy appropriate clothes, but the bare minimum. A photo of my 3 kids, if I wasn’t dragging them around the world with me and a camera to capture all those amazing photos which I can use to bore everyone at home with the mandatory return home slide show.
Thanks go out to both of them for responding to our question. Steve, Dante and I (Vegas) will be responding in a seperate post but we are going to play with the format of how we do these questions to see what works best.

What about you? What would you take with you on a trip around the world?

If you’d like to suggest a question for us to ask next week just leave a comment below!

  1. Simply Paul says:

Thanks guys for including me in this, I’m really impressed that I shared the first post with Elle.

But Vegas what would you pack?

    1. Well I’m going to be writing up my own response and publishing that along with a response from Dante and Steve.

Now we’ve actually come across a fourth individual who has WAY more world traveling experience than we do who will be sharing his thoughts as well. That should be up by the end of the week.
